I now have the Extreme in my Q10, works great. If I use Windows to format, disable mass storage, the phone then doesn't recognize the card. If you are attaching a file to a message, you can also access the sd card there, as far as I know.
Power the BlackBerry on and wait for the software to load before connecting it to the Mac again.
Also if you have a PC plug your BB in and try and access your SD card through that.
