It got fixed as soon as I added"ShellFolder" string with its appropriate value... I'm not high-end computer savvy, so clear, basic explanations will be helpful. It performs as it should if accessed using Firefox or NcFTP. Doing the reset worked for me. How can I use Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) to pass a username and password to an FTP site? If it helps, than you should probably add Windows Explorer to the list of Firewall exceptions to make it working with FTP. Right that's why I can connect on every other browsing site!

Nevertheless, my advice is to never install Chrome on Windows - it damages your Windows configuraiton - and even uninstalling Chrome does not fix it. I saw some previous discussions on this, but have not found any workable solutions so far. updated this entry and everything working great again.
