It is working fine now. the net file must be shared, but the bde can be installed locally.. Maybe I need to upgrade to Ultimate.On my desktop, initially XP Home, and now XP Pro, for years I've had basically no problems except some very occasional GPF type crash. But, interestingly enough, she doesn't have the BDE Administrator.
