The passphrase for WPA does not have to be printable characters so in the case that your have a non-printable password you would use WPA 1/2 hex and enter a string I haven't built a kernel from a source rpm in a long time, so I can't be sure that I did it correctly, but drivers/net/wireless/iwlwifi/iwl4965-base.c in the BUILD directory looked patched. If you hover your cursor over it, or click on it, you'll see complete connection statistics. Any way to tell if I'm having an unrelated problem or if I did something wrong?

As I only have a wireless connection in this apartment building I had to reinstall Xubuntu again.I wish wicd was the default network manager in Xubuntu. I will try to find other proper person at Intel to look over this issue. I also have a PC Card Atheros-based wireless G interface. You may also need to configure your wireless interface name on the Preferences page. What should I do when the boss "pulls rank" to get their problems solved over our customers' problems?

It was originally designed for Ubuntu, and there are now instructions for installing it on Debian, Slackware, Fedora, and Arch Linux. When I rebooted my computer it said that wicd had crashed. I went to the folder /opt/wicd and the only thing there is the encryption folder that I made like that form instructed. for each attempt.

Comment 21 Bradley 2008-04-03 07:20:09 EDT In your comment #8 there aren't any 5G scan results. iwl4965 does not work with the newest kernel. Please leave these two fields as-is: IMPORTANT! ap_scan=1 lets the supplicant scan for the AP, get the AP's IE, and filter out the stuff the AP doesn't support.

It's similar to KWifiManager, which I like a lot. http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=38966 I even tried temporarily changing the permissions so that I could write to it without super user access. The patch doesn't apply to iwlwifi-2.6's HEAD - there are conflicts for the 3965 part of the patch. I'm sure the Intel guys will resolve this shortly. Comment 4 markm 2008-03-27 14:17:36 EDT (In reply to comment #3) > Heh! his comment is here No working leases in persistent database - sleeping.

If it's using ap_scan=1 then wpa_supplicant should be able to filter out the unsupported options automatically (because it's found the IEs from the beacons). I like it better than NetworkManager, which to me is vexing; I always remove it. Please also make sure you are not running both the wpa_supplicant service and NetworkManager at the same time -- that causes problems: chkconfig wpa_supplicant off service wpa_supplicant start chkconfig NetworkManager on

I would like to run this at boot up but I am not sure how to do this.

After upgrading wicd connect to the network and Internet, but it does not run wicd client. However, the "This network requires encryption to be enabled." error didn't. Is there any way around this, so I could try this kernel out without actually putting many system packages into development state? Comment 7 markm 2008-04-01 07:44:56 EDT John, when I am referring to "2.6.24" kernel, I mean kernels distributed through fedora-updates channel. Comment 43 John W. Linville 2008-06-02 15:26:00 EDT It will take a little while for the normal updates process to push-out those (or later) kernels. http://mediastartpage.com/cannot-access/cannot-access-null-no-policy-files-granted-access.html I'm having the same trouble, I'll try this. 5 Reply by Amorina 2009-04-27 09:54:57 Amorina Member Offline Re: WICD 1.5.9 run problem It worked!First it looked like it wasn't working: I've

Modem, wireless, quale scheda ecc.. When I went to uninstall it didn't work. The whole reason we put the SCAN_CAPA patch in the kernel was to automatically detect this in userspace programs. Linville 2008-03-27 17:31:05 EDT kwizart, I don't know how to do the bugzilla magic you describe.

I then installed wicd159.deb which produce error of the kind "cannot access directory opt/wicd/encryption/configurations" - i manualy created the dir and the error disappeared. I'm really keen to install F9 on my work machine, that has iwl4965 on board. Right now is the first time it's worked since then.
