Once you are in DOS, you can run the program you copied to your USB drive by typing its name at the DOS prompt. Right now I'm running without a laptop batter (its pulled out).
Also you don't have to create boot CDs on your own, which can be a hassle as well. When my battery is in, it didn't recognize that either.
