The user running Powershell needs direct access/permissions to the database in SQL, Powershell does not use the farm account... I've got permissions on the site that's backed up. He has authored 11 SQL Server database books, 21 Pluralsight courses and have written over 3800 articles on the database technology on his blog at a http://blog.sqlauthority.com. i would of thought yes because if they are not visible backup wont work so same goes for restore?
