Sometimes you can try uninstalling the usb driver and once you restart the computer, the drivers will be reinstalled by the the operating system. That is some incorrect data has been written to the disk at a central location, destroying the information that enables navigation of the files on the disk. This post has been flagged and will be reviewed by our staff. I still have some data, around 350 GB, which I do not want to lose. I couldn't afford their prices.
I plugged it into my Linux computer and it recognized the drive no problem. Another solution may be the cable connecting the external hard drive. then right click on the usb link and choose update driver follow on screen option and browse for the driver software for usb media. Windows 7 is detecting the disk, but I can't do something with it.
